PILLIS BROTHERS was established in 1944 by George Pillis. This location was on Main Street which was a Gulf Station and is now where the Olde Salem Country Store is located.
In 1953 George decided to move to SHELL and relocated to the corner of Main Street and 4th Street (where Fast Freddy's was housed). Then in 1958 Pillis Brothers went back to GULF and went to the corner of 4th & Union.
In August of 1963, PILLIS PROTHERS went with PURE where they are now located at 101 East 4th Street in Salem, VA.
December 1999, George Pillis retired and his son, STEVE PILLIS became the Owner and President. Steve is accustomed to hard work and an honest day's pay as he has worked in the business with his father since he was 11 years old.
STEVE is a graduate of Glenvar High and Radford University. Steve married Robin who is a teacher at Andrew Lewis Middle School in Salem. They have two sons, Jacob and Zach.
